Wish I'd bought it a year ago! I noticed this vacuum for sale about a year ago - mainly because of the pretty ingenious, apartment-closet-friendly design - but figured it couldn't be *that* much better than the one I was already using. In the spirit of fiscal responsibility, I put it off. Boy, was I wrong.
Y'know the other review, where the person talks about filling a bag on the first go? You figure they must either be a reforming 'dirty person' or exaggerating. It seems a stretch. Whelp - I'm no 'dirty person' of any kind, and when I was through the living room and midway through the bedroom the 'change bag' light came on. I sighed, figuring that the sensor was off, and tugged off the cover to check it.
Whaddaya know? Full to the brim with stuff I had *no* idea had been hiding from my other vacuum. Ew.
I went through one more bag. I vacuumed three rooms. You do the math.
My carpet looks pretty splendid this morning. Needless to say, I'm pleased. I never woulda thunk it, but I wish I'd bought this thing when I first noticed it so the equivalent of the two bags of crud that went down the trash chute wouldn't be in my lungs right now.
Blaster? it sure is I had buyers remorse after placing the order. An after thought about the horsepower made me skeptical. Their big one is 8 hp then their best seller is 4 hp this one is only 1.3. To my surprise it was awesome. I can't imagine using a 4 hp on my bike. It works great. Filtered & heated air it is well worth the money!
Don't Buy It ! I bought this vacum at Target nearly six months ago. It has a very strong suction, and runs relatively quiet, but it cost a fortune to maintain! The root cause for this maintainence is that Dirt Devil designed this machine to use the Hepa filter as a vacum bag. All the dirt raps itself around the filter until its completely crapped up, and if you use it beyond that stage it will completely shut-down. I call customer service about it, and they recommended that I clean the filter more frequently. Which I now do, but I still have to replace the filter on average once every 2 months or else I'm force to breath all the fine particles that the Hepa is suppose to protect me from. The cost of each filter is an appauling $30 bucks. My car filter doesn't cost more than $7 dollars. At this rate I've already bought the vacum cleaner within my six months of use. Save yourself the hassel. Don't buy it!
terrible product I bought this steamer about a year ago and I have used it a handful of times on different rugs that had different levels of cleanliness (all the rugs/carpets were in good shape by the way). After purchasing this Dirt Devil Easy Steamer Deluxe, I experienced a classic case of "you get what you pay for." This steamer makes almost no difference in how the carpet looks, after I'm finished using it. Mild stains remain -- forget it when it comes to tougher stains. Most times, the cleaner leaves what looks like "rake marks" on the carpet. Imagine raking sand in a Japanese garden. That's what the carpet looks like after vacuuming it with this product. The lighter areas of the rake marks indicate where the steamer is actually working. It's a bummer knowing that I can't achieve that over the entire area I'm cleaning. I do not recommend this product (which was bought after a lot of online research). Find another option or go the professional cleaning route.
Disappointed The product is very noisey and arrived with defective attachments. The drapery attachment is held together with a rubberband, which would be fine if it remained air tight. But it does not and is consequently ineffective.
It has many nice features, including a bagless system that works well, and a strong motor. But the overall impression is one of shoddy manufacture.
