Incredible for Pet Owners, But Also Outstanding on Dirt!
I have a Katrina survivor dog that I adopted that can simply be described as a "hair machine." Minutes after vacuuming with my old vac, I'd still see "hair tumbleweeds" here and there. I knew I had to do something, so I ordered the Dyson DC-15. It arrived one day before I arrived at home, and my wife opened it and used it. "That new vacuum is amazing!," she said. I figured "amazing" meant "better than the old one." I took it into a carpeted room that she hadn't vacuumed yet, turned it on, and watched in amazement when after about 3 linear feet of movement produced a swirling hairball in the collector. At first I thought it must be residual hair from where she had used it earlier. This was NOT a section of the floor where I could even SEE any hair. The floor looked relatively clean when I started. So, I emptied the collector and started over. Same thing. Incredible! And not just hair, but dirt!

After about 3 weeks with this "Animal," I'm sold. Easy to empty, and every day it does it's thing -- never ceasing to amaze me. I use it daily, and the entire house smells cleaner than it did.

The attachments are nice -- I don't use the mini-turbine head, although I may later. The extension wand makes it easy to get under furniture with as little as 2" clearance (maybe even less). I have a kitchen island that weighs about 400 pounds that I used to have to move to clean underneath (it's on rollers). Now I just vacuum under it. The cool thing about the tools is that everything you need is on the vacuum... including the hose -- but unlike a lot of vacs (like my old Electrolux), you don't have to stop the vac, pull out a hose, attach it to the machine, and revert to upright later. The hose is already attached. You just pull the wand up, press a button, and you've got all you need to get under furniture. This part of the machine is truly a clever design.

This thing has tons of suction, too. Very impressive!

Here are the "cons" to the unit:
1) The hard plastic used on the collector seems like it might be easily broken -- although this hasn't happened yet. I'm not thinking "shatter" here, more like the latch might break. The jury's still out on this one.

2) The manual could have been better. I read. I don't appreciate the "diagram-only" approach to some of the instructions.

That's it, though... and the second one is minor.

Everything else is a "go" on this machine. Get one and you'll see what I mean.

Another thing... some of the reviews I've read complain about the "high pitched whine" or the color of the machine. The machine is pretty quiet. Much quieter than my old Electrolux, but it is A POWERFUL VACUUM and therefore will sound like a vacuum cleaner running! ;) And the color? Where do you keep this thing, in a display case? My advice? If you don't like the color, take it to a body shop and let 'em paint it for you -- but don't let the color cause you to miss what I consider to be one of the best deals going in the vacuum cleaner market.

Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum - 5770
If you have pets... this is the vacuum for you. I researched vacuums before I purchased the Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum - 5770. The hepa filter was a draw for me but I was really interested in the long hose (although is hard to stretch) and the brush attachment, which my husband says "those never work". What does he know? That attachment took all the cat hair off my sofa and pillows, huge bonus for me! The real test was my BLACK area rug where everything shows and it performed awesomely with only a pass or two, back to new. I did not rate it a 5 only because, like everyone is saying, it's heavy and not meant for everyone. I wouldn't recommend it to my Mom or my Grandma; they would really have a hard time pushing it around, I consider it a work out. The on and off switch does not bother me but I would have thought I blew a fuse if I didn't know about it being easy to turn off in advance. This vacuum is pretty quit, as far as vacuums go anyway. It glides smooth on floor surfaces and it doesn't hurt your trim if you bump up against it. I was really excited to get my new vacuum cleaner home and it was worth every penny. My carpet looks fresher just after vacuuming. To empty the container was a snap to remove and put back but just like any bagless vacuums it's always going to be a bit of a mess. Over all, its power will raise the nap on your carpet, pull the cat hair off your sofa and suck the dust off your floors... just like a good sweeper should. You won't be disappointed. Just hope it lasts.

Not a replacement for Bissell 3282 hepa filter
I bought one of these filters at Walmart and it does not fit my Bissell Healthy Home Vacuum cleaner. The top clip is about 3/32 too long. I tried hard but it just isn't going to snap into place. If you are handy and have a Drimmel or other small grinding tool you can make it work but it most certainly is not a snap in/ snap out replacement for the
Bissell 3282 filter.

This vacuum has improved my life
However debris-free our kitchen floor may be in the morning, it is, by the end of the night, usually covered in a fine layer of crushed Cheerios. What's to be done? Picking up stuff with a broom and dustpan is laborious. Hauling out the regular vacuum cleaner is too much to ask. And much as I love the Swiffer--and I do love the Swiffer--its forte is dust clean-up, not picking up crumbs.

Enter the Eureka Boss Lite Upright Cordless, probably the best product I bought last year. It's light. It holds its charge long enough to do everything I've ever wanted to do with it. It slips on and off its recharging holder thing easily. And it does a good job, thank you very much--by which I mean that I have pretty much abandoned the aforementioned regular vacuum cleaner (in every room, not just the kitchen) because I just don't need it anymore. And of course the big advantage is that because of its great ease of use one can more easily and more often clean one's floor. On an average day I probably take this thing out two or three times.

Another reviewer mentioned the desirability of having a hose attachment for getting into corners. I would like this too, if (and only if) it could be added to the machine without making it (the machine) any more cumbersome or complicated. At any rate, a delightful vacuum cleaner that has made life easier around here. I highly recommend it.
