Works Great! Okay, I went to the store to buy another brands spot scrubber...but they had none in stock and this was my option and I was just too rushed to go to another store. I got home and looked this one up to see what others had said before I even opened the box...because at this point I was disappointed in myself for not getting the one that I had researched and had wanted. There were two reviews here, one good and one bad. So I figured I should write a review also. This little thing is great! Its so small and light and NO CORD...to those who are looking for a carpet cleaner...this is not it, its a spot cleaner...get something large...but be warned...it is in your best interest to empty the water from ANY carpet cleaner after using it..large, small, van sized...carpet cleaner waste water gets more rancid than a port-a-potty on the 4th of July in the south...so the changing the water complaint...i just dont get...and any cleaner must be emptied and refilled often...both the waste water and clean water holders came off and back on easily. just read the directions. my only complaint is that the brush itself does not move or go in circles, its just still. But I used it today on my steps after charging it like the directions said...and it worked great. I have a big carpet cleaner...i hate pulling it out for little things and frankly its heavy and an pain to lug up the steps...i have very little carpet left in my house...just the steps, a bedroom and 2 walk in closets...this thing fits my needs perfectly. Its not like your purchasing a 400$ machine...its 40$...and it works great.
Handy Pink Vac I was looking for a handy portable vacuum that looks good, and I found it in this pretty little pink dirt devil. It probably is the prettiest hand vacuum around in my favourite colour combination of pink and grey!
I use it to vacuum the fluff on the carpet in my room when it is inconvenient to pull out the big stick vacuum and it works fine. Since the design lacks a brush at the tip, I found that the tiny pieces of fluff are not easy to pick up. However it is still does its job pretty well.
The lack of a brush at the tip is both a pro and a con, since debris does not accumulate at the opening, like hair etc... (no more pulling out hair/fibre from opening of the vacuum)
I can vouch that it is certainly a hand vacuum that packs alot of power, because it managed to pick up big broken pieces of glass in my car quickly!
Very pleased with my vacuum, if you are looking for a pretty vacuum that works, this is the one!
Finally, A Real "Old School", Vacuum Cleaner! The vast majority of vacuums on the market today are poor substitutes for the "old school" models that gained fame in the 1950's and 60's. Mostly Plastic, cheaply made, and never doing the job good enough, most vacuums today do just enough to get by. This unit by Metropolitan not only pays homage to those legendary cannister vacs of the 1950's, but it actually cleans like them! This vac actually is powerful enough, to suck up, anything it touches, so it not only picks up the deepest dirt, and dust, but if you're not careful, it'll also devour socks, coins, paper, and other small items! This is the type of concentrated, sustained, sucking power, lacking in most contemporary units. With it's mulitiple filtration, quiet operation, and lightweight, this vacuum is a joy to operate. The need to buy filters and bags may be construed as a negative, but in reality, it's a reasonable trade-off, for the true "old school" cleaning power, this unit delivers.
This thing is unbelievable Admittedly I'm not the purchaser... but I wanted to throw in my two cents anyway after seeing this baby in action.
I have just finished over 4 months of cat-sitting; two cats, one of them long-haired. The amount of cat hair covering and embedded into the carpets, rugs and furniture was ridiculous. I couldn't keep up with it.
The cats' owner bought this vacuum after seeing it on TV, and yesterday she came over to pick up the cats and attempt to clean up the hair. Both of us were stunned as to just how well this thing does what it says it's supposed to do. The entire time, we couldn't stop expressing our amazement.
It was fairly easy to assemble, and the assortment of attachments is very useful. Not to mention that the price is ridiculously reasonable for what you get. Believe the hype, that's all I can say.
