Sucks great--but clogs too easily I loved the suction power of this vac, but after awhile, it just didn't seem to do the job. I noticed that the cup wasn't getting much dirt, so I tore it apart to see what was going on. The intake and the hose was super clogged--it was a mess!
After getting it cleaned out, I started watching it closely, and noticed that it clogs really easily. I am constantly having to reach up above the collection cup and pull out dust, and dirt, and hair, and who knows what. I don't have allergy problems, but anyone with an aversion to dust would not be able to do this without a dust mask.
I regret this purchase. At the time I bought this, I looked for reviews and could find none--it was a fairly new model. Now, 9 months later, I can't see getting another vacuum, but wish I could.
Fortunately, it wasn't too expensive, but I can't afford another.
Well done Finally, somebody out there got it right. A small, light-weight appliance that can do a big job. I was getting tired of lugging heavy, cumbersome vacuums up and down the stairs and thought I'd look for a more practical alternative. I found one in the Shark. I recommend it highly. From carpet to floor, it does an excellent job. Clean the filter regularly and it this little vacuum won't let you down.
It sucks -- I mean, really well! I have been very impressed with the power of this vacuum cleaner. My old Oreck (8+ years old) was just not cutting it anymore, and I read the reviews for this Hoover model and decided to give it a go. I'm picking up cups and cups of pet hair (that I couldn't even see going in) from carpeting that was supposedly "clean" from the Oreck.
Only complaint I have is that the Oreck weighs less than pounds, and I think this thing weighs closer to 30, which might be a consideration for those without upper body strength. But otherwise, I am pleased with my purchase.
Small than I thought! When I discovered this model, I did the research; Dyson's web site, this one, and other sellars. I found little information on it, but I had a Dyson DC15 "ball" vacuum in the past and decided to order it. I couldn't make up my mind between this one and the larger DC25. Other than measurements, the only difference that I could find anywhere, was that this model's handle retracted for easier storage. Guess what, this thing is as small as the DC18, only this model as the ball. Other than the size, it's a great vacuum and typical Dyson.
It works great, suction is fantastic. It's perfect for an apartment or someone who wishes a lightweight easy-to-use vacuum. The hose system leaves something to be desired. It is cumbersome and somewhat difficult to utilize. One has to pull out the handle, reverse it, and attach the short hose to it. It's not as simple as the other models. Also, the cord is short and it the only accessory that comes with it is the brush. No extension or crevice tool.
As I said earlier, this is a great vacuum for an apartment or for someone that wants something lighweight. I wished that there was more information available before I ordered it. Otherwise, I would have ordered the larger DC25.
