Get it ONLY if you need it!
I think this attachment is "good enough" and I do use it about once a month for heavy dusting around the house. It is not, however, the super-useful dusting brush I thought I was getting.

The brush does NOT dust flat surfaces well. Not only does it kind of push a little of the dust ahead of the bristles, never really sucking it up and leaving "streaks", but it has the tendency to suction itself down HARD to the flat surface. This gets annoying. Because of this, I do not use it for all-over flat surface dusting.

What the duster is GREAT for are blinds, ceiling fans and the curves of wood moulding. We have a big black dog and do need to dust blinds & fans more often. A few swipes and the job is done. Same thing when I dust the furniture crevices and mouldings - the duster works great.

I do not like to dust base boards with it because somehow as the brush drags along, it seems to statically charge the carpet and the baseboard and any stray dog hairs are suddenly attracted to the baseboard I JUST dusted. I use the regular onboard vacuum brush for baseboards. I can't explain this frustrating phenomena but it might just be me and my house!

Lastly, the bristles bend out of shape very easily and you can end up with the brush looking more like a troll doll. Surprisingly this makes dusting flat surfaces a little easier. Unfortunately the bristles can bend so far up, they don't touch ANY surface while you are dusting, leaving dust behind. I store mine flat in it's own box, which is a pain, to ensure the bristles don't bend so badly that I cannot coax them back into shape.

If you're like me and just HAD to have it, see if you can find it on sale. Then you won't mind so much when you end up using the onboard brush 95% of the time to dust.

Works well but jams easily
When new this vacuum performed quite well, sucking quite a bit of dirt out of the carpet and the removable hose is very handy for picking up the larger stuff on the carpet and removing dust and spider webs from baseboards and the corners of the ceiling.

However, there are four design issues that have consistently caused problems.

First, the "knob" that adjusts the hight of the vacuum for the pile of carpet does not align properly making the height adjustment feature worthless. The wheel turns but the actual platform on the bottom of the vacuum never changes.

Second, the suction tube from the agitator area to where the removable hose fits into the base of the vacuum clogs. Be very careful about sucking up anything large (like a paper clip). These items can jam in the corrugated hose where hair and dust collect, eventually completely clogging the hose. The first time we noticed the complete loss of suction and attacked the clog with a hanger, we discovered a solid 7 inch tube of crud (noting really large, though) that had just packed into the tube over time. I've found that occasionally using the narrow hose attachment and sucking out the tube helps remove the stuck gunk.

Third, while called "bagless" there are so many filters in the vacuum, it can be a real pain to "empty" it. Sure, the main collection area is easy to remove, but there is a sponge style filer that has to be removed, washed and dried, along with a second smaller filter and then the HEPA filter.

Finally, the collection of hair on the agitator--a common problem with vacuums--is especially bad where there are indentations on the roller, especially where the suction intake exists. This might contribute to problem 2 above.

Overall, probably good value for your vacuum money, but be ready to perform household maintenance on it in order to keep it working. And if you suffer from problem 1, good luck getting the right amount of contact with your floor.

This baby ROCKS!
I've always enjoyed the simple things in life. To me, simpler is better, especially when it comes to machines. And cars. The more stupid gadgets, the more likely they'll break.

This machine does what it's supposed to do. It CLEANS carpets. It does come with two attachments that are really four, which is cool. The suction is amazing...even when using the attachments. It does sometimes tip when you're stretching with the hose, but honestly I don't mind because I love the fact that it's lightweight and easily maneuvered around toys, furniture, sleeping dogs...YES. It's that quiet.

I own 3 dogs and a long haired cat, and the floors are feeling much softer and looking newer. I even use it on my kitchen floor with great results. It doesn't spew dirt and crumbs and dog hair everywhere like my old Hoover. And get this: the KIDS can use it very easily because even at their level it stays flat on the floor.

I love this vacuum cleaner. :D

This vaccum isn;t worth the price. The first thing to break was the crevice tool. It won't go back on when I use it for longer than five minutes it sounds like it's losing it charge. Buy som ething else . Next time I will buy black and decker.

Excellent carpet cleaning, poor vacuum
I was really excited about this because of the multi-function use. At the same time, I was skeptical. Our little dog likes to pee in small places on the carpet, so we needed good carpet cleaner that would deep clean these areas.

The carpet cleaner works very well. Both the large cleaner extension and the handheld spray and suction the water, which most others do not do. It was a decision between this and the Hoover Agility. The Agility does not seem to have a sprayer on the extension hose.

When it comes to the vacuum, it's not that great. The suction is only good enough for area rugs. The carpet extension has a air powered brush that stops working on normal carpet and it only cleans the top surface debris.

So, if you want something for hardwood and deep carpet cleaning this is great. Just don't try to replace a regular vacuum cleaning with this.
