Short and sweet, this is the best vacuum I have ever used. This vacuum sucks so hard (thats a good thing), you can actually feel it pulling the carpet up as it goes.

The vibragroomer II brushroll vibrates every speck of dirt out of the carpet. All the moving parts are metal and steel with sealed bearings. This thing is made for some maid in a motel to vacuum 8 hours a day. It should last you pretty much forever. The bag costs $1 and can hold months worth of stuff. A new belt costs $1 and should last 6 months to a year. With a 50' power cord, you can do the whole house at once.

Ive owned expensive, bagless, dual V, pretty to look at, vacuum's that are very colorfull and exciting in presentation, but just dont last. They are all plastic with weak motors, and fall apart and cower in fear at the sight of my dog, cat and wife hair. This vacuum has a commercial motor, and is designed to easily dissaseble in seconds for easy cleaning (i pull out brushroll and remove hair every few uses). When parts do wear out, they are readily available. I expect to buy a new $35 brushroll and a new $20 fan every 3-5 years. Other then that, this machine will last 20 years.

I had used this brand before and been very happy, as a matter of fact, I kept my last one for about 8 years. This one is cheaply made, has no suction and is a mess. Instead of the propelled motion moving in a forward direction to help you out, it pushes you back, no matter which direction you want to go. This is horrible! It does not pick up anything, and I have to empty the can constantly, and it still has no suction. Unfortunately, I did not return this in time to get my money back. I guess I will have to contact the manufacturer and see what happens. Avoid this model. I wish I had.

Answer to your pet hair problem and then some!
I have 5 pets and hair in my home is a constant problem. I've owned bissell before and wanted another vacuum specifically for pet hair. Bissell offers this vacuum at a reaonable price and is quite affordable.

After quickly assembling the vacuum (I believe 3 screws total) and placement of the accessories, I was ready to go. There is an accessory you lower to actually pull up the hair before it is sucked up. Great!
The accessories are very friendly to your staircase (and wood areas) with rubber tips. They have great suction as well.

Only one negative comment, if you leave the vacuum on carpet while you use the attachments with the hose, it is so powerful it will actually LIFT up your carpet, so be careful to mind it.

All in all, one of the best vacuums I've purchased!

The good and the bad
I borrowed this from a friend so I didn't need to risk my own investment. I'm still not sold on its benefits at this point. In the end, I feel like the floor is much cleaner than with a mop, but it took me longer, so maybe if I spent that much time on it with a mop, it would have ended up the same?

PROS: Lightweight, steam is ready fast, long cord, gets off stuck on food from a 1 year old's corner of the floor, loosens up stuck on dirt

CONS: I got a blister after using it for an hour! (and it took me an hour to mop the floor!) I had to go over the fake grout lines in our linoleum with a towel and my fingernail to get out the loosened up dirt. Still didn't get out dirt from deep texture lines. The reservoir is way too small, had to fill it up 6 times for our kitchen alone.

Overall: It was a novelty that I think will wear off. It needs a scrub brush on the bottom to go along with the steam to get off tough dirt. Would be good for day to day cleaning. Is helpful for getting tough dirt loosened up-but so is good old fashioned elbow grease.

Shark products amazing, customer service sucks!
Shark products are wonderful. I've had a basic 2 speed for several years and love it, no problems. The more options you get, no handle dust cup, etc. the more that can go wrong. The company is horrible to work with. New parts take months to arrive if they arrive at all. This makes me wonder, if they parts don't arrive, are too many machines breaking and they can't keep up with part orders? I have several cats that shed and cat litter. Shark works perfectly for this, especially the higher end model. However, I can't keep it charged and I can't get part, so I have boycotted Shark. However, they have revamped their website, showing parts available for each product, assuming you know what part you need. There is one other website out there that sells Shark parts. My vac store stopped selling Shark because of their customer service. Unfortunately, I can't find another product to fit my need. If I buy another Shark, it will definitely be more basic and I will consider it as disposable and throw it away when something happens to it rather then deal directly with the company. The dust cup was the first part to break within 2 months. After months of waiting for new part, I just broke off a piece and used it as is. I found the no touch dust cup much harder to use then emptying it my hand, which is just pulling the cup out and emptying it. So, buyer beware! My rating is on customer service, the Shark company and the fact a great product wears out too quickly.
